5 Best things to do in Longview Washington

Looking for something to do in Longview, Washington? Here are five of the best things to do in the city, whether you’re looking for culture, nature, or just some good old-fashioned fun.

Take a Walk through the Longview Arboretum

The Longview Arboretum is located in the Longview Community Park and is open to the public. It’s a great place to take your dog and a perfect spot for you and your friends to go for a walk or run around after work. The nursery has over 100 species of trees, shrubs, and flowers displayed throughout its sprawling grounds.

The park is also home to an oasis pond with water fountains that provide visitors with opportunities for relaxation while they’re there. You can even grab some coffee from Starbucks (or any other coffee shop) while you’re at it!

Visit the Cowlitz County Historical Museum

The Cowlitz County Historical Museum is located in downtown Longview, right next to the courthouse. It was opened in 2004 and featured exhibits on local history dating back to the early 1900s. You can learn about how people lived during that time, as well as see artefacts from various historical periods.

The museum is open from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or by appointment only.

Go fishing on the Cowlitz River or Lake Sacajawea

The Cowlitz River is a great place to fish, and Lake Sacajawea is also another great spot for fishing. If you want to go boating, Lake Sacajawea is also an excellent choice. And if you want to enjoy camping, there are plenty of nearby campgrounds where you can spend the night under the stars!

However, if you’re up for some water fun, the Cowlitz River is a great place to go swimming. You can also take advantage of Longview’s other recreational activities by hiking at Sacajawea State Park. And if you want to spend some time with nature while you’re here, then you should definitely visit the Fort Lewis Botanical Garden!

Enjoy Some of Longview’s Best Food at The Trough

The Trough is a great place to go for food and has a great atmosphere. It has been around here since 1966, and its menu includes burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. It has two locations: one in downtown Longview (at the corner of 4th Street & Pine Avenue) and another on West 5th Street across from River Park Square Mall.

The atmosphere is relaxed but still upscale enough not to feel like you’re at some wild place—you’ll feel right at home! Caters there are friendly and helpful, and they’ll help you choose what kind of burger or sandwich you want. Also, the open kitchen counter is where customers can see them working while waiting for tables behind glass windows.

Relax at an Old-Fashioned Drive-in Movie Theater

A drive-in movie theater is a great way to spend some time with your family. The best part about a drive-in movie theater is that it’s not just showing one film! You can see up to five different films at once, so new movies are always coming out, and you never know what you might see next!

If you’re looking for the perfect family outing, consider visiting during spring or summer when there’ll be fewer crowds at these theaters. Also, if it’s raining or snowing outside (which unfortunately sometimes happens), try going early in the morning. At this time of the day, the temperatures are cooler and less likely to make people feel tired after being out all day long.
