Few things are classier than a limo, and this is the main reason why they’re used as transportation to special events and ceremonies. But what about the most expensive limos in the world? What are they like?
To learn all about them, keep reading!
Toyota’s Century Royal
Toyota’s Century Royal is a four-door limousine made exclusively for the Emperor of Japan. Since 2006, only four versions of it have been produced.
It’s equipped with many state-of-the-art safety and security features, and it also has:
• 6-speed automatic transmission
• 5-liter V12 engine
• Wool-cushioned seats
• Leather interior
• Granite entry steps
This limo is definitely built for royalty, and its total cost is thought to be around $534,000.
United States Presidential State Car
The custom Cadillac limo that presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump used reportedly cost $300,000-$1,500,000. Nicknamed “The Beast,” it ran on either a gas-powered 8.1-liter V8 General Motors Vortec engine or a diesel-powered Duramax 6.6-liter turbo v8 engine.
This limo was said to be heavier than its predecessor, mainly because it was equipped with Goodyear Regional RHR tires, which are usually used on mid-size and heavy-duty trucks. Its top speed was 60 mph.
This particular presidential limo had five-inch-thick bulletproof glass, run-flat tires, and the cabin was sealed (in case of a chemical attack). It also had night vision optics, oxygen tanks, a cannon for firing tear gas, an armored fuel tank, and shotguns. It’s been said it had rocket-propelled grenades, but this hasn’t been confirmed or denied.
The Bat Mobile
The “Bat Mobile” was constructed in 2012 and is based on the Batman movies that were popular throughout the 80s and 90s. It’s equipped with many of the features the original Bat Mobile had, including:
• A jet engine
• Rocket launchers
• Ejectable front and back wheels
Based on the Corvette, this impressive superhero-themed limousine costs a whopping $4.2 million, making it the most expensive limo on our list.
The American Dream
The 100-ft “American Dream” holds the Guinness World Record for “Longest Limousine.” It’s owned by Jay Ohrberg, a car collector and builder who owns many of TV and cinema’s most iconic cars.
The American Dream has 26 tires, a sun deck, a few beds, a swimming pool, a heated jacuzzi, and a helipad. What’s the total cost of all these features? A cool $4 million.
And, of course, it has six American flags at the front, just to make it clear where this automotive masterpiece comes from.
The Midnight Rider
The “Midnight Rider” is a tractor-trailer limousine, perhaps the only one ever built. This, too, is a Guinness World Record holder, except it’s for the heaviest limousine. It has three separate lounges, and each one has its own full-size bar.
It’s 70 feet long and nearly 14 feet high, and it can hold up to 40 people. Forget about one chauffeur service—this limo comes with a whole staff, including bartenders, hostesses, and a co-driver.
Its estimated value is $2.5 million.
Boeing Limo
The “Boeing 727 Jet Limo” was created by a Mexican limousine manufacturer. It features a full bar, a dance floor with strobe lights, TVs, a full living area with a fireplace, and a heart-shaped bed. This very unique limo costs $1 million or more.
Armor Horse Vault XXL
The Armor Horse Vault XXL is definitely the most secure limo on the planet. It’s essentially a stretch armored car that’s made of G-40 steel and bulletproof glass. It also has wood-paneled interior features, including a bar, six satellite-powered LCD TVs, and a stereo system. At $150,000, this is the cheapest limo on our list.
