Types of Limos

Spread the love

Although the stretch limo is the limo most people think of when they hear the word “limo”, the truth is limos come in different shapes and sizes, and some limos are preferred for certain events while others are best at different times. That is why we offer different chauffeur services in Los Angeles with an extensive fleet for every occasion.

To know all about the limos or limousines that limousine services often have in their fleets, read on!

What Kinds of Limos Do Limousine Services Use?

Sedans (Town Cars)

A sedan limousine, sometimes referred to as a town car, can seat up to four passengers. This is the most affordable kind of limousine, so it’s used a lot for airport travel and business transportation. Usually the hourly rental rate for these is $75-$85.

A sedan limo is pretty much a luxury sedan that’s driven by a chauffeur. In many ways it’s like a taxi, but it’s a lot nicer overall. Plus, there’s no meter to worry about.

So if you want to enjoy best-in-class transportation, but there aren’t enough people in your party to justify getting a stretch limo, choose a luxury sedan instead.

Mercedes-Benz, Lincoln, Cadillac, BMW, and other luxury car-makers manufacture town cars.

Stretch Limos

Renting a stretch limo usually costs about the same as renting a sedan. These are ideal when you have five to eight people in your party. They’re spacious, private, and comfortable, and for all these reasons (and more) they’ve been the go-to limo for decades.

SUV Limos

An SUV limo is a lot like a regular stretch limo; it’s just higher off the ground and provides more overhead space in the passenger cabin (read more about the differences between stretch limos and SUVs).

These can seat up to eight passengers, and they’re often equipped with special features, like a mini bar, strobe lights, and surround-sound speakers.

Because of the amenities and additional space, these are usually more expensive than regular stretch limos, costing $100-$150 per hour.

Hummer Limos

A Hummer limousine has a distinct shape; it’s a massive, truck-like vehicle that can accommodate up to 20 passengers.

Renting one of these can cost anywhere from $150-$300 an hour, making them one of the most expensive kinds of limo rental.

Like SUV limos, they’re equipped with a range of amenities, which is why they’re often rented for bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and other special events.

Party Buses

Party buses are the largest kind of limousine. They can accommodate up to 30 passengers, and they’re equipped with all sorts of features so riding on them is an absolute blast.

Often, they’re referred to as a “party on wheels”, and rightly so. The bars on these can be pretty big, and the passenger cabins are usually quite spacious overall. The rental rate for these is $100-$300 an hour depending on various cost factors.

Convertible Limos

You’ve heard of convertibles, but did you know there are convertible limos? These are preferred in areas where the weather is warm and the sun is always shining.

For $100-$125 an hour, you can ride around in one of these top-down sedans and enjoy the wind going through your hair.

Vintage Limos

Want to feel like you’ve stepped back in time when you use luxury transportation? Then rent out a classic limo! These usually have beautiful interiors and retro exteriors, providing the perfect amount of vintage elegance.

Vintage limos come in a range of colors, including pink and silver, so they’re ideal for themed weddings and other events.
